FPA designs its programs to comply with the principles of good practice accepted by most major professions. FPA will apply for acceptance from CFP Board as well as the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) and Professional Achievement in Continuing Education (PACE).
CIMA®/CIMC® and CPWASM Continuing Education Hours
Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) has approved the FPA Boston 2008 education program for a maximum of 17.25 non-IMCA sponsored CIMA/CIMC continuing education hours. Attendees who hold the Chartered Private Wealth AdvisorSM (CPWA) designation can also receive a maximum of 17.25 continuing education hours. This does not include preconference programming.
Please Note: Designees are individually responsible for submitting the non-IMCA CE or CPWA CE submittal forms with proof of FPA sessions attended in order to receive CE credit.
Forms & Pre-cons
Submittal forms may be found on IMCA's Web site. In addition, there are two pre-conference workshops sponsored by IMCA that offer a combined six hours of IMCA-sponsored CIMA/CIMC continuing education credit — four hours for the Advanced Investment Strategies preconference workshop and two hours for the Alternative Investments pre-conference workshop.
NASBA
The Financial Planning Association is registered with the National Association of the State Board's of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
