FPA Boston 2008 brings together many of the best professionals, practitioners, employers, exhibitors and consultants, making it an excellent place to connect and network with resources. These resources have many ideas; so many ideas, in fact, you may get a "conference high" — when you receive so much valuable information you could become overwhelmed. With the right preparation, you can maximize your time at FPA Boston 2008.

First-time Attendee Orientation

If you are a first-time attendee, you won't want to miss this special session just for you. Join us Saturday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. We will show you how to take advantage of everything our conference has to offer and introduce you to some of the wonderful benefits of membership. We look forward to welcoming you to the world of FPA!

Education on the Floor

  • Student Chapters at FPA Session: Discover the world of our student chapters, including benefits and ways to get involved at the local level.
  • Hear from the Experts: Hear established financial planning professionals discuss issues planners face on the job and best practices to overcome them.
  • What's New on the Hill: Learn about the latest issues and discussions happening in Washington, D.C., directly from FPA's Government Relations staff.

Professional Development Pavilion

Be sure to visit the Professional Development Pavilion on the exhibit hall floor and take advantage of additional education and networking opportunities. Included in the pavilion this year: Access to FPA Jobs and Coach Match; Cyber Café, sponsored by Lincoln Financial Network; Virtual Learning Center and Education on the Floor.

On-site Recruiting & Interviewing

Many of our exhibitors will be recruiting and interviewing on-site at Boston. Job seekers looking to maximize their opportunities should post their resume in the FPA Jobs section, as well as bring physical copies of their resume to the conference. Employers will have access to the FPA Jobs section along with interview rooms to use at the conference. First Command and Ameriprise will be recruiting at FPA Boston 2008.

Coaching Sessions with Seasoned Professionals

Visit the FPA Community Building to sign up to talk one-on-one with a seasoned financial planning professional. You won't want to miss this great opportunity to learn and grow from the knowledge, wisdom and expertise of the best in the profession. You'll also want to take advantage of the Community Building to relax for a few minutes or network with other students attending the conference.

Exclusive Reception

FPA will host an exclusive event to bring employers, professionals and students together on the evening of Sunday, October 5, 2008. This event will take place in the FPA Membership Booth in the exhibit hall from 4 to 5 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to network and engage with:
